Moroccan Gas Prices Surge as Global Demand Rises for Summer Travel

Moroccan drivers will have to expect a new increase in the price of gasoline at service stations due to imported inflation.
Starting Wednesday, June 1, drivers with gasoline engines will have to pay at least 1 DH more per liter at service stations, reports the daily Les Inspirations ECO. This increase in unleaded gasoline observed everywhere in the world is explained by the behavior of the countries of the Gulf and Asia or even the United States, major consumers of premium. They are ordering more unleaded gasoline to meet the needs of the tourist season.
Another cause: the deficit in the stock of premium less in demand than diesel on several markets, like Morocco. Refineries have invested a lot in the production of diesel rather than premium. As a result, the forecast for an increase in the price of premium to 16.80 dirhams per liter for the first half of June. A drop in the price of diesel is not, however, excluded. A reduction of around fifty cents with an average price of 14.15 DH/liter is therefore possible.
