DGI Cracks Down on Unpaid Vehicle Taxes, Enforces Stricter Transfer Rules

The Directorate General of Taxes wants to fight against unpaid fees this year. It reminded vehicle owners of their obligations under the 2021 Finance Act.
"No transfer of a vehicle subject to the special annual tax on vehicles may be made in the name of the transferee, unless it is first proven that the tax relating to the current year of assessment and the unprescribed years or the exemption from this tax has been paid."
Users can check the payments relating to the unprescribed years for a vehicle and print the corresponding certificates on the website vignette.ma. Users who meet the conditions provided for in Articles 260 and 260 bis of the CGI receive an exemption certificate issued by the administration if the vehicle meets the conditions provided for in Articles 260 and 260 bis of the CGI.
