Deadly Whisper: Wife Faces Trial in Husband’s Mosque Murder Mystery

The crime dates back to November 6, 2021. Mohamed Ikaoussen had been found with his throat slit at his home in the Reine-Jeanne neighborhood in Avignon. He was returning from the mosque and his shopping, which he was still holding in his hand, a sign of the suddenness of the attack. The apartment showed no signs of a break-in.

Initially, Souad was not suspected, especially since she was traveling between Morocco and Spain at the time of the events. However, the investigation revealed that the relationship she described as problem-free was actually marked by domestic violence. Testimonies and a sentence she allegedly uttered before her departure - "When I return, my husband will be in a coffin" - have directed suspicions towards her.

Souad has always denied any involvement, claiming to be innocent. Her defense denounces a file that would be only an "accumulation of rumors and testimonies without any direct evidence". She recalls that their client had herself reported threats against the couple and that, above all, the alleged hitman has never been found.
