Deadly Ship Explosion at Moroccan Port Kills 7, Search Continues for Missing

The toll from the explosion that occurred on Thursday morning at the port of Jorf Lasfar has risen to seven dead. The incident, which occurred on board a ship flying the Panamanian flag, also left several injured, some of whom are in serious condition.
Rescue operations are ongoing to locate any missing persons. According to the authorities, all means are being deployed to locate the missing persons.
In addition to the seven confirmed deaths, several people were injured in the explosion. Three seriously injured people were evacuated to Casablanca to receive appropriate care, while two others, in stable condition, were taken care of in a private clinic in El Jadida.
The causes of the explosion are the subject of a thorough investigation by the competent authorities. For the time being, no information has been released on the origin of the incident.
The ship involved in the explosion was moored at the port of Jorf Lasfar awaiting the loading of fertilizers.
