Deadly Migrant Assault on Melilla Border Leaves Dozens Injured, 13 Dead

A few hours after the attempted intrusion organized by thousands of illegal migrants in Melilla at the level of Nador, the local authorities provided more details on this attack that caused deaths and several injuries.
In reviewing the operations carried out against this attack, the local delegation of the Spanish government explained that these migrants used very violent methods, causing more or less serious injuries to 140 members of the security forces, 5 of whom were seriously injured. In addition, 76 migrants were injured, 13 of them seriously.
On the Moroccan side, it is announced that 13 illegal immigrants who were among the injured during the assault operation on Melilla died on Friday itself, following complications related to the serious injuries they suffered, bringing the number of deaths among the migrants to 18 (23 according to a Saturday report). No deaths were recorded in the ranks of the security forces, it is specified.
