Danish Furniture Giant JYSK to Open First Stores in Morocco

The Danish furniture brand JYSK is arriving on the Moroccan market. Two stores will open in Casablanca in April, accompanied by an online sales platform.
The company has announced that it has received more than 5,000 applications for the positions offered. JYSK plans to recruit fifty employees by the end of the year. Eighteen people have already been hired for store management, logistics and administrative positions.
"The integration of our teams is going excellently. We have solid experience in deployment in diverse cultural environments and know how essential it is to combine respect for differences and transmission of values," said Igor Raić, director of JYSK Morocco. The new employees were trained at the group’s headquarters in Denmark or in other subsidiaries.
Expansion projects in other Moroccan cities are being studied. "The enthusiasm we are encountering is a great pride, all the more so as JYSK is still little known in Morocco. We have been warmly welcomed [...] ," declared Mikael Nielsen, executive vice president of the group. Igor Raić added: "They [the new recruits] are fully prepared to support the opening of our first stores and to supervise our future employees in the JYSK spirit."
