COVID-19 Surge: Casablanca-Settat Field Hospitals Near Capacity as Cases Soar

The cases of contamination are accelerating in Casablanca-Settat, the region most infected by the coronavirus. Result: the field hospitals have an occupancy rate of more than 83%.
According to data from the Wilaya of the Casablanca-Settat region, the three field hospitals in Casablanca-Settat had 1,616 occupied beds as of July 31, 2020. In the field hospital at the Casablanca International Fair, 550 beds are occupied, compared to 676 in Benslimane and 390 in El Jadida.
According to the same source, patients are also hospitalized in other public health hospitals in the region. With 1,929 beds as bed capacity, these three field hospitals have 700 beds at the Casablanca International Fair, 690 in Benslimane and 539 in El Jadida.
Furthermore, the El Jadida field hospital, currently equipped with 539 beds, can accommodate up to 940 beds, it is specified.
