COVID-19 Patient Achieves Academic Success: High School Graduate Earns Honors While Hospitalized

In a testimony to the Le360 website, Mohamed, a new high school graduate who was already working, said that his dream was to continue his studies at a university or a private school before he learned the sad news: he was infected by a co-worker, carrier of the virus.

While he thought of abandoning this dream, which was several years old, he was supported by his family who was of great help to him and allowed him to overcome his fears. Admitted to the military field hospital in Benslimane, he especially benefited from the attention of competent and dedicated healthcare workers.

Now reassured, Mohamed Akrad has resumed his Baccalaureate revisions. According to the young family man, the preparation and exams took place under exceptional conditions. "The authorities and healthcare personnel made all the necessary means available to me to give me confidence and reassure me for the future. I will never stop thanking them for their fight against the pandemic and their efforts to save lives," he said.

Now a high school graduate with a score of 13/20, the young family man is also cured of COVID-19, and has reunited with his family thanks to the efforts of the healthcare staff. "But it remains a painful experience," he says. The new high school graduate also regrets the behavior of certain people in Tangier who do not take the spread of the pandemic seriously, especially those who deny the existence of the virus.
