The increase in new intra-club infections due to the coronavirus and the desperate search for contact cases are behind the postponement of several matches in the 26th round of the Moroccan football championship.

The contact cases of infected persons in certain clubs are of particular concern to the health authorities, reports Al Ahdath Al Maghribia. These are the clubs of FUS, Wydad and Renaissance de Berkane for the D1 clubs and MAS de Fès, Tihad Bidaoui (TAS), Racing de Casablanca and Chabab Benguerir, for the D2 clubs.

This situation has led to the postponement of the matches Hassania d’Agadir against FUS, Raja Beni Mellal against RSB, MAT de Tétouan against Wydad, Raja against Ittihad de Tanger, as well as the match between MCO and RCA de Zemamra. They were scheduled to take place this weekend, during the 26th round of the Botola.

Now safe from contamination, the club of the Strait has obtained the agreement of the National Professional Football League (LNFP) to postpone the match against Raja in order to better prepare to return to the competition. As for the match between Olympique Safi and DHJ, on Saturday, August 29 at 8 p.m., it has also been postponed.

In this regard, the matches of the 27th round have all been postponed in favor of the postponed matches. As for the program of the 28th, 29th and 30th rounds, it will be announced later by the LNFP, the same source specifies.
