Moroccan Soccer League Prepares for Restart as Players Undergo COVID-19 Testing

The resumption of the Moroccan championship is taking shape. The officials of the various Botola clubs have started the screening of their players and staff before starting the training.
This covid-19 screening campaign organized for the benefit of players and staff began on Tuesday with Olympique de Khouribga, reports the daily Assabah. It should then be extended to the other clubs.
According to the same newspaper, the government would have given the green light to the officials of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) for the resumption of the championship with the first and second division clubs.
Upon resumption, the clubs will also be authorized to train for four weeks before the first match. In addition, a more flexible protocol than the previous one will be drawn up provided the epidemiological situation improves, it is specified.
As for the matches, they will be played behind closed doors, as is the case everywhere else where football has resumed its rights. If the FRMF believes that the postponed matches should be played in the middle of the week, the referees are of the opposite opinion and propose a gradual resumption. They fear an increase in contamination in the event of a close scheduling of matches.
