Moroccan Premier League Kicks Off: Moghreb Tétouan Faces Chabab Mohammedia in Season Opener
The opening of the Botola Pro 1 will take place this Friday with a match opposing Moghreb de Tétouan to Chabab Mohammedia at the Moulay Abdellah complex in Rabat. The 2020-2021 edition, despite the coronavirus pandemic, offers football fans very attractive matches.
The inaugural match is highly anticipated by football fans, who are impatient to see the current form of the Tétouan club. Last season was rather difficult for the club, which did not shine as usual. According to the daily Al Ahdath Al Maghribia, Spanish coach Juan José Maqueda intends to make a statement with this first match that he has painstakingly prepared with his players. But it’s not a foregone conclusion since Chabab de Mohammedia intends to find its bearings and make a very good place for itself.
The first day of the Botola 2020-2021 season will also pit AS FAR against MAS de Fès, a match that could have been postponed due to Covid-19 contamination of some MAS players. But the Royal Moroccan Football Federation did not grant the club’s request. On Saturday, Renaissance de Berkane will face Zemamra, Rapide Oued Zem will host Mouloudia d’Oujda at the phosphates complex, and Olympique de Safi will face Difaâ El Jadida at 7:30 p.m.
For Sunday’s game, Ittihad de Tanger will face Hassania Agadir at the Adrar stadium, Wydad will host Youssoufia Berrechid at the Mohammed Complex and Raja will travel to Rabat to face FUS at the Moulay Abdellah Complex, the daily specifies.
