Couple Confesses to Child Murder in Larache, Citing Infidelity Suspicions

Accusation of betrayal, jealousy... The couple had specific motives for committing this infanticide. If the father decided to murder his son, it is because he firmly believed that he is not his own but the fruit of an extramarital affair of his ex-wife, reports the newspaper Assabah. His wife, for her part, wanted to break the link with her husband’s ex-wife.

According to the families’ account, the woman set a trap for the child. After school, she took him to a room, undressed him before plunging him into a bathtub. The father, in turn, was responsible for suffocating the boy. He died on the spot.

What happened next? The two spouses slit the child’s throat and cut his body into pieces. Some parts of the body were thrown into a landfill in the Hay Al Manar 3 district, while the head and other limbs were carefully hidden in the family refrigerator, it is specified.

The couple admitted to having murdered the child. And, the investigating judge at the Tangier Court of Appeal is prosecuting the two for premeditated murder, infanticide, violence and mutilation of the remains. The first hearing coinciding with the child’s funeral, the residents of Larache organized a solidarity march. On this occasion, they called on the justice system to impose a heavy sentence on the two criminals.
