Corruption Scandal Rocks Moroccan Court: Officials Accused of Extorting Millions in Bribery Scheme

The Aïn Sebaâ criminal court would be plagued by corruption. Judicial officials would be involved in an extortion case for a role of intermediation in an individual’s file.
Another case of intermediation. In a video, the commercial of a real estate project in Mansouria claimed to have been the victim of a scam orchestrated by officials within this court, reports Assabah.
According to the revelations, the latter have already extorted the sum of 2.8 million dirhams from him, promising to exculpate him in a judicial case in which he is being prosecuted before the Aïn Sebaâ court. Something that the blackmailers have proven since once the amount was transferred, a large part of the evidence filed against him was withdrawn.
However, the newspaper points out, the threats against the victim continued, as these "intermediaries" came back to demand that one of the judges of the Aïn Sebaâ court insist on getting his share. Overwhelmed, the main person concerned decided to denounce the blackmail through a video in which he urges the judicial authorities to open an investigation.
The man claims to have telephone recordings to support his claims. Audio recordings where we would learn that a person who embezzled more than 10 million dirhams was acquitted thanks to the intervention of intermediaries, and that the son of a very wealthy businessman was sentenced only to a suspended prison sentence although he would be linked to a homicide.
