Convicted French Lawmaker Mocks Assault Victim at Farewell Party, Sparks Outrage

Outgoing deputy of the Renaissance party, ex-LaREM, M’jid El Guerrab was sentenced on Thursday, April 12 to 3 years in prison, including one year firm and two years of ineligibility, for the assault with a helmet on former socialist official Boris Faure in 2017. The latter deplores the fact that the elected official "made his assault applauded by a hilarious audience" on Sunday in Rabat on the occasion of his farewell party as deputy of the French of North and West Africa.
"My aggressor decided to make the public laugh at my expense in the middle of his speech. Another self-rehabilitation for this man with a manifest lack of remorse and scruples. It is the account of my assault with a helmet that is mocked and falsely distorted," denounces Boris Faure on his personal blog on Mediapart, with the publication of a video (shocking passage at the 9th minute) on the farewell party of the deputy of the French of North and West Africa.
"When you insult the Moroccans, I defend myself", "when you insult my family I defend myself, when you assault me I defend myself" For the former executive of the Socialist Party, these are three sentences three lies three indignities that the judges have clearly sanctioned since on August 30, 2017 there was indeed only one aggressor and it was the "deputy with the helmet" who with two violent blows to the head sent me into a coma and resulted in two months off work and brain damage.
"Mr. El Guerrab never stops defaming me and this has been going on for 5 years," laments Boris Faure. "If he is caught red-handed in a lie here, he continues behind the scenes to also present me as anti-Muslim and anti-Moroccan. In these times, this is no small accusation and it can have serious repercussions. Especially since I work with Morocco in the context of my professional duties."
