Morocco Education Minister Condemns Violent Assault on Teacher at Berrechid School

The incident occurred last Wednesday at the "L’étoile blanche" primary school affiliated with the Berrechid Regional Directorate. In the video, which went viral on social media, we see a parent who stormed the establishment, climbing the walls and assaulting the victim inside this school, causing, according to the minister, a state of terror and panic among the students.

In response, Benmoussa wrote on social media: "I strongly condemn, in my capacity as Minister of National Education, Primary Education and Sports, this odious act suffered by the teacher in the exercise of his duties..." And he added: "The ministry that I have the honor to lead expresses its absolute support for the teacher, victim of this aggression, and we also affirm that the Berrechid Regional Directorate has joined the civil party in this case."

The minister also recalled the need to respect the members of the teaching staff and to denounce all attacks on the sacred nature of educational establishments, as they are incubators for educational work and the values of citizenship.

The reason for this assault would be the teacher’s refusal to grant an absence authorization to the student. The video sequence shows unprecedented scenes of violence, while the students were screaming in fear.
