Controversial Salafist Cleric Criticizes Moroccan King’s Visit to Jewish Temple

A Salafist sheikh, known for his controversial radical opinions, described the royal visit to the Jewish temple in the city of Essaouira as an "Israeli infiltration".
Well known for his extremist positions, similar to those of El Kabbaj, Hassan Kettani did not hesitate to comment on the photo of King Mohammed VI inside the Jewish temple, in these terms: "the Israeli infiltration".
Outright attack or simple ignorance? The site Rue20 has however specified that the Salafist has shown a lack of knowledge of the multiple components of the Moroccan entity and culture.
The site adds that the sheikh, who continues to receive an annual grant from the Ministry of Communication, is unable to distinguish the Judeo-Moroccan heritage from the Jewish state.
