Controversial Preacher’s Conference in Agadir Canceled Amid Opposition

Several reasons explain the cancellation of the conference by preacher Yassine El Amri, which was to take place on Saturday, March 18 in Agadir.
Preacher Yassine El Amri did not go to Agadir to lead a conference organized by a student club active in the field of culture and media at the higher school of education and training in the city on "values in the teaching profession". The meeting was canceled for various reasons. Voices were raised against the arrival of the Muslim dignitary.
In a post on his Facebook page, Professor Hicham Lakhlifi, who teaches at the Agadir higher school, explained his opposition to the arrival of the preacher. According to his explanations, the school did not give the organizers of the conference a free hand to announce it to the public. Also, he felt that if Yassine El Amri is invited as an influencer, this conference should take place on social networks and not on university campuses. But "if Yassine El Amri is invited as a voluntary preacher, his conference should be organized in mosques or in the relevant associations." Not within universities where only researchers whose competence in their respective fields is recognized through scientific articles published in specialized journals are authorized to give conferences.
