TE Connectivity Expands in Morocco with $14.7 Million Automotive Factory

A new TE Connectivity factory will be built in Tanger Automotive City for the production of connectors for the automotive sector. The investment agreement was signed on Tuesday, February 18 in Rabat.

The agreement was signed by the Minister of Industry, Trade, Green Economy and Digital, Moulay Hafid Elalamy, and the Senior Vice President of TE Connectivity’s Automotive business, Matthias Lechner.

This is an investment worth 147.25 million Dh that will generate 500 new direct jobs. It is the 4th project carried out by TE Connectivity as part of the Industrial Acceleration Plan (PAI).

The company created two factories in Tangier in 2016, one for the production of connectors and the other for the injection of connection systems. In 2017, the 3rd factory, specialized in the molding and assembly of connectors for heavy vehicles, was installed in the same city.
