Colombia Reaffirms Support for Morocco’s Stance on Western Sahara Dispute

On Thursday, Colombia reiterated its support for Morocco’s position on the Sahara issue. This support aims to find a solution to this issue, which is a vital question for the Kingdom in terms of "its sovereignty and territorial integrity".
In her message addressed to the Kingdom, during the 2nd joint commission of technical and scientific cooperation between the Republic of Colombia and the Kingdom of Morocco, the Colombian Deputy Minister of Multilateral Affairs, Adriana Mejia Hernandez, emphasized the importance that Morocco represents for her country, as a strategic partner and gateway to the African continent and the Arab world.
According to the Deputy Minister, this partnership is marked by the dynamism of bilateral relations and by the political commitment materialized by the decision to raise the status of its diplomatic representation in Rabat.
Furthermore, the Minister highlighted the political vision, historically shared by the two governments on many fundamental issues, testifying to the good relations and a common vision of global problems. The work of this commission was sanctioned by the approval of a bilateral cooperation program for the period 2020-2022.
