EU and Morocco Reaffirm Support for UN-Led Sahara Peace Process

Morocco and the European Union (EU) reiterated, on Wednesday in Brussels, their support for the United Nations political process on the issue of the Moroccan Sahara. Indeed, the UN institution hopes to achieve a just, realistic, pragmatic, sustainable and mutually acceptable political solution to the Sahara issue.
In a joint statement, made public following the meeting between Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission, and Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, it is noted that the EU High Representative "has taken positive note of Morocco’s serious and credible efforts".
Morocco and the EU encourage "all parties to continue their engagement, in a spirit of realism and compromise", specifies the MAP.
