The authorities specify that he "was the subject of an international search notice on the basis of a red notice". This alert, triggered by the central office in Paris, aims at his "alleged involvement in a case of criminal gang formation and cocaine trafficking, in addition to the possession of weapons and ammunition without authorization".

Pending his transfer, the suspect has been taken into custody. In accordance with the directives of the competent public prosecutor’s office, he is currently "subject to the handover procedures". In parallel, the Interpol branch in Rabat has officially informed its Parisian counterpart of this capture, thus paving the way for "the initiation of the extradition procedure".
