CNSS Opens Portal for Covid-19 Relief Claims in Cultural and Fitness Sectors

Thousands of employees in the cultural and creative industries, private gyms and private nurseries, who have been unemployed for several months due to the health crisis, will be relieved. The opening of declarations on the CNSS portal came into effect this Sunday, March 7.

On March 7, indicates the CNSS, marks the date of opening the portal for filing applications to allow employees in these sectors to benefit from the lump-sum allowance granted under the Special Fund for the Management of the Covid-19 Pandemic.

This Covid-19 allowance covers the period from July 1, 2020 to May 31, 2021. A deadline of 9 days, from March 7 to 15, 2021 for the period from July 2020 to January 2021, is granted to employers meeting the conditions mentioned in the user guide of the covid19.cnss.ma portal. Declarations will be open from March 20, 2021 for the months of February and March, and from the 16th of the month concerned to the 3rd of the following month for the months of April and May.

Only operators whose activities have been affected by the health crisis within the meaning of Decree-Law 2.20.605 will be able to benefit from these measures. They must maintain a portion of their employees and trainees declared to the CNSS as of February 2020, in the following proportions: 80% for establishments employing less than 10 people, 90% for establishments with between 10 and 50 employees, and finally 95% for establishments with more than 50 personnel.

The covid19.cnss.ma portal is available to employers, to allow their employees and trainees under an integration contract to benefit from this allowance and also to allow the deferral of the payment of social security contributions.
