Civil Guard Busts Major Electronics Smuggling Ring in Algeciras, Seizing €500,000 Worth of Devices

The Civil Guard has arrested four people in Algeciras who attempted to send various electronic materials to Morocco. In total, more than a thousand phones and about two thousand objects of "illegal origin" were seized.
Among the seized items were laptops, the latest generation of mobile phones, cameras and many other objects whose total value is estimated at more than 500,000 euros, the armed institute said in a note.
In addition to the four people arrested, two others were investigated for the same acts. The sub-delegate of the government in Algeciras, José Pacheco, and the head of the Civil Guard command of the city, held a press conference on Thursday to provide more details on this operation.
