Christopher Nolan to Film ’Odyssey’ Epic Across Morocco, UK, and Rome

British director Christopher Nolan has chosen Morocco as one of the filming locations for his next film, Odyssey, an adaptation of Homer’s Greek epic. The filming, which will begin this month, will also take place in the United Kingdom and Rome.
After the success of Oppenheimer, Nolan is tackling a monument of literature with this story of Ulysses’ journey. The film, shot with new IMAX technology, promises to be a grandiose visual spectacle, worthy of the director’s ambition.
While the plot remains secret, we know that Nolan will bring his personal touch to this mythical narrative. True to his style, he could play with the chronology and offer an original interpretation of Homer’s work.
To bring this epic to life, Nolan has assembled a cast of stars: Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o and Charlize Theron. Some are reuniting with the director after previous collaborations, while others are making their first foray into his cinematic universe.
Odyssey is expected in theaters on July 17, 2026. Produced by Universal Pictures, this film promises to be one of the major cinematic events of the coming years.
