China’s leading electric pylon manufacturer lands its first contract in Morocco
Chinese manufacturer Hongsheng Huayuan has just added Morocco to its commercial map. China’s leading supplier of electric pylons has announced the arrival of its products on the Moroccan market, a first for which it has not yet disclosed either the client or the project.
Morocco is among the new markets conquered by Hongsheng Huayuan in the first half of 2026. In its half-year report filed with the Shanghai Stock Exchange, the group states that it has succeeded in entering the Moroccan, Argentine and Emirati markets for the first time. It then specifies that its products are also making their debut in Morocco and Saudi Arabia.
This breakthrough came at the end of a half-year during which Hongsheng Huayuan won 656 million yuan in international contracts. This amount, representing approximately 850 million dirhams, nevertheless covers all contracts secured outside China: the group does not disclose the share corresponding to Morocco.
The equipment concerned consists of more than simple electricity poles. Hongsheng Huayuan manufactures steel pylons for electricity transmission lines of all voltage levels, tubular structures, supports for electrical substations and metal frameworks capable of carrying conductors for high- and very-high-voltage networks.

The group’s arrival in Morocco is, for the time being, strictly commercial. No factory, local subsidiary or assembly unit has been announced. Hongsheng Huayuan has secured initial access to the Moroccan market, while Chinese industrial investments are multiplying in the Kingdom, particularly in batteries, automobiles, wind power and electronic materials.
China’s leading player faces the electricity giants
Hongsheng Huayuan overwhelmingly dominates its sector in China. In the first half of the year, the group secured 6.6 billion yuan in contracts on its domestic market. It notably won 3.71 billion yuan in orders from State Grid and 1.618 billion from China Southern Power Grid, the two Chinese electricity giants.
The group already supplies its pylons and electrical structures to more than 100 countries and regions. It notably took part in the construction of a 296-meter pylon enabling a 500-kilovolt line to cross the Amazon in Brazil, as well as projects using the same voltage in Canada and the United States.

Its arrival comes as Morocco accelerates the expansion of its electricity network. ONEE now operates more than 30,000 kilometers of high- and very-high-voltage lines and is carrying out an investment program intended to strengthen the transmission network. The new infrastructure is notably expected to connect renewable power plants, industrial sites and future interconnections with neighboring countries.
