Chelsea’s Ziyech Praises Tuchel, Addresses Recent Bench Role

Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech praises the merits of Thomas Tuchel and admits that he is impatient to work with him. At the same time, he revealed the reasons for the tactician’s choice to leave him on the bench in recent matches.
The atmosphere is good between Hakim Ziyech and Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea’s new coach. Hakim Ziyech approved the choice of the German technician to leave him on the bench, after the criticism from the supporters. The 27-year-old striker was an unused substitute during Thursday’s victory over Tottenham and the competition for places in the advanced areas is currently ruthless at Stamford Bridge.
For the former Ajax Amsterdam star, Tuchel’s decision not to line him up in the last few games is a "wise" decision since the Moroccan could get injured after intense training, Hakim Ziyech said in an interview with the Chelsea website, stressing that Tuchel’s philosophy is more offensive than that of Frank Lampard. "I think you’ll see a Chelsea that attacks more and controls the game more. That’s what we’ve tried to do in the last two games, play with possession and from there try to attack a lot," he hammered.
"It’s not always pleasant when a manager leaves and a new one arrives, but he’s brought his new ideas and everyone is excited to work with him," he stressed. Tuchel’s first game against the Wolves ended 0-0, which means they haven’t conceded a goal in the Premier League under him yet. While the Blues were struggling to score under former coach Lampard.
Thus, Tuchel plans for his new attacking system to result in three more points when they go to Sheffield United tonight. As for Ziyech, he has scored two goals and provided four assists in 18 games this season. Meanwhile, supporters hope to see him in the Blues’ starting lineup tonight.
