Chelsea Hails Ziyech as Key to Morocco’s AFCON Hopes and National Team Revival

Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech is seen by Chelsea as the "leader of the renaissance of the Atlas Lions." On its official website, the English club has devoted an article to the player’s major role in qualifying the Moroccan national team for the final phase of the Africa Cup of Nations.
In an uncomfortable position since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel, the article devoted to Hakim Ziyech seems to dispel any misunderstanding about the Moroccan player’s potential. For Chelsea, the midfielder is a key element for the Atlas Lions in search of past glories.
He is also seen as a "key figure" who will help the team recover from a "difficult decade." He has the charisma and dynamism for it. However, Chelsea expects even more determination from the player to win this Africa Cup of Nations that will crown the efforts and other sacrifices made at all levels.
Morocco is due to face Burundi on March 30, but it has already qualified for the final phase of the Africa Cup of Nations after the draw between Burundi and the Central African Republic (2-2). It is definitively the leader of group E as required by Vahid Halilhodzic, after having conceded a draw against Mauritania (0-0).
Hakim Ziyech will therefore participate in his second AFCON after the one in Egypt in 2019 where Morocco was eliminated by Benin in the round of 16.
