In Ceuta, Spain Roars Its Fighters at Morocco
On Wednesday, the sky over Ceuta resonated with the passage of Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets. These maneuvers are part of a joint preventive military exercise, aimed at strengthening the air defense capabilities of the autonomous city with Morocco in its sights.
This unusual aerial activity, which took place between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., is part of the armed forces’ annual preparation program. Coordinated between the Army and the Air and Space Force, the purely formative and preventive operation mobilized the C-16 aircraft of Squadron 11 as well as the Mixed Artillery Regiment number 30 (Ramix-30), without any live ammunition fire.

The main objective of this deployment is to perfect aircraft tracking by the Ramix-30 air defense group. This unit relies on Oerlikon 35/90 cannons, Mistral missiles, and three-dimensional radars. Against them, the C-16 Eurofighter, a true pillar of Spanish air power capable of reaching Mach 2, allows for testing and improving troop responsiveness to potential high-intensity threats.
