Ceuta Leader Hails Spain-Morocco Accord, Citing Improved Border Security and Trade

The President of the Government of Ceuta, Juan Vivas (PP), welcomed the "new stage" in the relationship between Spain and Morocco, consecrated by the visit of Pedro Sanchez to Rabat on Thursday. According to him, this new cooperation places the autonomous city in a "much better position than before the migration crisis of May".
In terms of prospects for stability, tranquility and development, Ceuta is now in a "much better position than before the migration crisis of May," Vivas told El Faro de Ceuta, welcoming the announced "normalization" of the freight traffic under customs control at the Ceuta border, and the "control" of migrant traffic.

For the President of Ceuta, the agreement concluded with Morocco is "positive" in the sense that it recognizes the guarantee of territorial integrity and authorizes the "controlled" reopening of the border, two important decisions that will prevent new invasions of migrants like those that occurred last May. With this new start with Morocco, "Ceuta will have many opportunities to establish its economic development," the president concluded.
