Ceuta to Expel Moroccan Migrants Refusing Repatriation Amid COVID-19 Concerns

Moroccans who have refused to return home will be expelled in the coming days by the Sebta police. The decision was made after the delegation and the city agreed that there would be no more new Moroccans housed in a temporary center.
A group of Moroccans confined in the La Libertad pavilion because of the coronavirus has been transferred to the police station. The Moroccans are being transferred there to start the administrative formalities for their expulsion. These are Moroccans who refused to be repatriated home this weekend, despite their names being on the repatriation lists drawn up by the Moroccan and Spanish authorities, reports Ceuta Actualidad.
The expulsion was decided following the city’s decision to no longer accept new residents. This is also added to the imminent closure of the sports center and reception center, announced the municipal government, which specified that La Libertad has operated as a temporary shelter for foreigners in recent weeks.
For the expulsion, the national police are using two lists, the same source specifies. One takes into account those who want to leave the city as soon as possible, and the other lists those who have expressed their intention to stay in Sebta.
