Casablanca Ranks 49th in Global Study of Most Welcoming Cities

Casablanca has been ranked the 49th most welcoming city in the world. It is the largest city in Morocco and the most populous with over 3.3 million inhabitants.
The American travel website "Big 7 Travel" has published the results of its study on the 50 most welcoming cities in the world. Casablanca, the largest and most populous city in Morocco, has made its way into the top 50, occupying 49th place on the list.
"In this big city, it’s easy to get lost, but the locals will show you around (don’t expect a benevolent guide). Casablanca has the secret of a good atmosphere, but beware of pickpockets," warns the magazine.
This ranking is done online thanks to reader reviews, who based on well-defined criteria make the choice. Among these criteria are the difficulty of walking the streets, the promptness to help foreigners and the ease of making new friends.
Casablanca is the largest city in Morocco and the Maghreb. It is also the 8th largest Arab city.
In addition to Casablanca, Oman, 18th, and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, 13th, are also among the Arab cities selected. According to the magazine, Vancouver took the lead in the ranking, followed by Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Bruges in Belgium, Taipei in Taiwan and Hamburg in Germany.
