Casablanca: more than 400 families victims of a giant real estate scam
Major real estate scam in Casablanca. A real estate developer has managed to defraud more than 400 families as part of a residential project called "Casablanca Parc" in the Sidi Maârouf area.
The victims gathered in front of the Aïn Sebaâ District Court to denounce what they consider the "largest real estate scam" recorded in the economic capital of the kingdom. They say they have been waiting since 2016 for the delivery of their apartments.
Some families told Al3omk that the real estate developer did not fulfill his commitments and that the project has not seen any progress, even though they have paid substantial sums of money as down payments. The plaintiffs claim to have been informed of the complaint filed by a bank against the developer. In turn, they have also seized the courts to take possession of their apartments or compel the developer to refund their down payments.
The victims are demanding justice. They are asking the court to prosecute the people involved in this vast scam that they have described as a "real estate earthquake".
