Casablanca's Mohammed V Airport Terminal 2 Set for Major Renovation

Terminal 2 of Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca will soon take on a new look. This space will undergo layout and decoration work, under the supervision of ONDA, which attaches great importance to the choice of materials, equipment, furniture and its design, as well as the implementation of detailed plans for the works.

The objective of this project is to give a proud look to the architecture of the central part of Casablanca airport, indicates Aujourd’hui le Maroc, adding that the work mainly concerns the decoration of the main arteries of Terminal, including the public hall (level 1 and 2), the boarding lounge, the disembarkation corridor, the baggage claim area, the facade towards the runway, the check-in area and the arrival and departure formalities area.

The National Airports Office (ONDA) plans to implement a particular aesthetic concept, also taking into account functional, structural and technical constraints. Without forgetting to offer operational and comfortable places that perfectly reflect the signature of the Office.

"In its preliminary project, the interior architect will have to establish in a first phase the plans, sketches and drawings showing the architectural part of the interior layout, the orientations of the decoration styles of the project, the allocation of spaces..." After the Office’s approval, he will present the detailed preliminary project with additional details, noted the same source.

ONDA has assured that "referring to the detailed preliminary project, accepted by the client, it will then be a question of determining the choice of materials and equipment, the choice of furniture and its design, and the implementation of detailed plans for the works".

The client for this analysis is at the same time the Infrastructure Directorate and the Marketing and Commercial Pole Directorate of the National Airports Office, concluded the newspaper.
