Morocco Boosts Airport Security with Multi-Million Dirham Investment

The National Airports Office wants to secure the Kingdom’s airports. To this end, several markets for international companies active in the field of security surveillance and control have been launched very recently.
These markets are launched for the account of the airports of Casablanca, Marrakech, Dakhla and Nador, reports Al Massae. They amount to several million dirhams. As for Marrakech-Menara, 20 million dirhams are planned for the strengthening of the video surveillance system and the security presence.
The same amount is allocated to the Mohammed V airport in Casablanca for the upgrading and strengthening of its security system. These are the latest generation devices like the one recently installed at Washington airport in the United States.
According to the documents relating to these public contracts, the Mohammed V international airport should also benefit from an equally efficient electronic device to detect false documents.
As for Dakhla airport, it will be equipped with a video surveillance system and security devices inside and around its buildings at a total cost of 44.55 million dirhams against 17 million for Nador airport.
