Casablanca Modernizes Street System Ahead of 2025 Africa Cup

The city of Casablanca is getting ready for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The city council, during its last extraordinary session, adopted a series of measures to prepare the city for this major event. The objective? To make Casablanca a welcoming and easy-to-live city for the many expected visitors.
Among the flagship projects is the implementation of a street numbering system. No more approximate addresses and nameless streets! Casablanca is modernizing and adopting a clear and, it is said, effective system to facilitate travel. This project is accompanied by a charter for identification plates and a plan to name streets and main roads.
But the city’s ambitions do not stop there. The council has also approved the restoration of the old slaughterhouses. The purchase of tourist buses will allow visitors to discover the riches of the city, while the rehabilitation of the central market of Casablanca-Anfa will revitalize the heart of the metropolis. At least, that’s what we hope. Finally, the creation of a museum of the memory of Casablanca will enrich the cultural offer of the city.
These projects are part of the city’s preparations to host continental and international sporting events, with the ambition for the economic capital to position itself as a modern and attractive metropolis.
