Casablanca Launches High-Tech Urban Surveillance and Traffic Management Center

The city of Casablanca has equipped itself with a central command and coordination post, aimed at better management of road safety and the integration of technology in urban control via cameras.
Located at the headquarters of the Casablanca police prefecture, the new structure was inaugurated last Thursday by the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) and has mainly two sections, video protection and traffic management.
The objective is to promote fluidity of transport and traffic within this economic and urban hub, and to be able to respond to emergency calls on the 19 line and manage police interventions on the public highway within a unified and computerized integrated operational space.
In total, 210 cameras have been installed on the main arteries of the city and along the urban highway. The system is managed from a main control room equipped with a 40-screen 46-inch video wall, as well as a secondary room with a 10-screen video wall and 3 workstations.
These are remote-controlled cameras, allowing horizontal scanning and vertical rotation. They are equipped with adapted zooms for the surveillance area and allow night vision.
