Casablanca Launches Commission to Regulate Parking and Curb Illegal Attendants

The authorities of Casablanca have set up a special commission, responsible for finalizing a specific specification for the parking of cars and motorcycles in order to put an end to the anarchy of illegal car attendants, commonly called "yellow vests".
The commission is composed of the presidents of the majority and opposition groups, as well as representatives of the parties within the Casablanca municipal council. After a first session on Tuesday, it met again on Thursday to amend the draft specifications, developed by the competent services of the municipality, said Mustapha Haiker, president of the urban planning commission at the town hall, to Hespress.
The authorities of Casablanca are determined to put an end to the chaos of illegal car attendants, added the president of the group of Istiqlal Party councilors within the council. During the previous session of the council, Hussein Nasrallah, deputy mayor of Casablanca, indicated that he had exchanged with a group of regular car attendants in order to find a solution that suits all parties.
For their part, the regular car attendants of the city are asking the municipal council to issue surveillance authorizations in the form of specifications and to improve their living conditions by regularizing their social and legal situation. In addition, an association recently transmitted to Mayor Nabila Rmili a draft specification on the temporary operation of the municipal domain for vehicle parking.
