Casablanca Invests 35 Million Dirhams in Wastewater Treatment Project

The Société Nouvelle Travaux Maroc (SNTM), a subsidiary of the Chaâbi group, has just been selected by the local development company Casablanca Baïa to build a wastewater treatment pumping station in Mediouna.
The SNTM, which has proven itself in the realization of major works such as the Sebou-Bouregreg water highway, will receive the sum of 35.1 million dirhams to carry out the construction work of a wastewater treatment pumping station, the adduction network, the charging basin and the storage basin, reports Maghreb Intelligence.
Casablanca Baïa will select another company for the realization of the second lot of this project, relating to the work of the wastewater transfer network from Mediouna to the green spaces of Casablanca, adds the same source, recalling that the total cost of the project amounts to more than 65 million dirhams.
In order to rationalize water to cope with water stress, the Casablanca authorities had banned the use of drinking water for watering green spaces and golf courses. Treated wastewater will be used for this activity. The practice will be generalized throughout the kingdom.
