Casablanca to Form New ’Cleanliness Police’ Unit

The Casablanca municipality has asked the presidents of the districts to send it a list of four agents to form a "cleanliness police".
"The presidents of the districts and municipalities of Casablanca have received correspondence from the mayor of the city, Nabila Rmili, asking them to select four employees initially to form the first unit of the Cleanliness Police," Moulay Ahmed Afilal, deputy mayor of Casablanca in charge of the cleanliness sector, told the newspaper Al3omk, adding that "these teams will be generalized at the local level".
The official also indicated that some district presidents have already submitted the list of selected employees to the City Council, specifying that the latter "will receive essential training and take an oath to carry out their mission as Cleanliness Police within their district". The Casa Environnement company will be responsible for training the agents and providing them "with all the necessary equipment to start their work".
Also, "the Cleanliness Police agents will receive a uniform outfit, new vehicles, as well as a set of equipment," Afilal informed, who recalled the selection criteria for the employees who will join this unit. They must "justify an advanced level of education, at least two years after the baccalaureate" because, as part of their mission, they will be called upon to write tickets and draw up reports.
"The objective of the Cleanliness Police is to raise awareness and regulate the behavior of the people of Casablanca in terms of hygiene and waste management," concluded the deputy mayor, recalling that "in each district of Casablanca, a controller will be appointed at the head of each team".
