Casablanca Fire Injures 12, 8 Critically, After Candle Ignites Residential Blaze

The civil protection agents of Casablanca managed to contain a serious fire that almost swept away an entire family in Derb El Fokara. However, twelve people were injured, eight of them seriously.
The fire would have been triggered by a candle lit by an asthmatic resident who forgot to extinguish it, indicates a press release from the local authorities, adding that a motorcycle parked in the courtyard of the house contributed to fanning the flames.
Similarly, the lack of necessary ventilation in the house and the outbreak of the fire at a time when the residents were asleep, complicated the intervention operation. 8 people were seriously injured, while four others suffered minor injuries and suffocation due to smoke inhalation.
Two tanker trucks were used by the civil protection agents who managed to bring the fire under control and prevent it from spreading to neighboring homes and evacuate the victims.
All the injured people were taken to the Bouafi hospital to receive the necessary care.
