Massive Fire Destroys 60 Shops in Moroccan Market, No Injuries Reported

Early this Sunday morning, a fire broke out in the Es-Smara market in the Karima district of Salé-Tabriquet. The prefecture said the fire was completely brought under control and there were no casualties.
Alerted by the residents, the civil protection elements, the local authorities, the security services and the auxiliary forces were dispatched to the scene. They managed to bring the fire under control at 1:30 a.m., using 11 fire trucks, reports the MAP.
Although the fire did not cause any casualties, the local authorities stressed that about sixty shops were damaged. The rapid control of the fire and the vigilance of the merchants made it possible to save a large part of the goods and property.
