Casablanca Extends COVID-19 Lockdown for Two More Weeks as Cases Surge

Casablanca will be locked down for an additional two weeks due to the resurgence of new coronavirus infections.
The government made this decision following the report of the monitoring and follow-up committees of the Casablanca prefecture and the recommendations of the specialized scientific commission on the need to continue the necessary measures to fight the coronavirus epidemic.
The government has decided to extend, for an additional 14 days, the implementation of the measures previously decided in the prefecture of Casablanca, starting this Monday.
In this context, all the restrictive measures previously imposed will be maintained. The government also calls on citizens to strictly respect physical distancing, hygiene rules and especially the obligation to wear a mask.
These measures include the continuation of the curfew from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., the closure of all exits from the city, the imposition of the condition of presenting a special authorization for any entry or exit, the closure of neighborhood markets at 3 p.m., the closure of cafes and businesses at 8 p.m. and the closure of restaurants at 9 p.m.
