Casablanca Court Delays Hearing in Stray Dog Attack Case Against City Officials

The administrative chamber of the court of first instance in Casablanca has postponed to May 20 the examination of the complaint filed by a victim of a stray dog attack against the municipality and the Local Development Company "Casablanca Environnement".
At the last hearing, the plaintiff’s lawyer asked the court not to take into account a document provided by the municipality and "Casa Environnement", describing it as "suspicious". The defendant party produced a commitment signed by two security guards stationed in Sbata and Bouskoura, in the area where the attack had taken place. One of them declared to be the owner of the dogs that attacked the plaintiff.
But the plaintiff’s defense pointed out differences between the deed of commitment signed by these guards and presented by one of them to the bailiff during the inspection of the attack site, and the one produced before the court by the municipality and "Casa Environnement". The lawyer also questioned the inspection report carried out by the defendants more than five months after the attack occurred last August.
The victim’s lawyer recalls having written to the municipality and Casa
