Casablanca Completes Census, Prepares Vaccination Sites for 6 Million Residents

Casablanca is preparing to launch the vaccination campaign. After the phase of registering citizens, the sites to host this operation have also been identified, pending the imminent receipt of the vaccines.
Two major meetings were organized between the authorities and the provincial officials as well as the staff of the Wilaya and the Wali Said Ahmidouch on the final preparations. In total, 6 million people have been identified for vaccination, or a total of 12 million doses that will be administered by conventional injection.
According to Le360, all health centers have been selected to host this vaccination operation. Other sites are also identified to be made available to medical staff, if necessary, it is indicated. These are establishments under the Departments of National Education or Youth and Sports.
In addition, mobile units are also planned to ensure mass vaccination in prisons, university residences, barracks and in companies with large workforces. A few days before the launch of this vaccination campaign, which will be free, the vaccines are not yet available, as some rumors claim. The authorities are preparing to receive them. Steps are still being taken to ensure the entire cold chain necessary for the transport of the doses.
To have a temperature ranging between −2°C and −8°C, the authorities have identified the Autonomous Refrigeration Authority of Casablanca (whose headquarters is located in Sidi Othman and which is under the supervision of the Interior). As for the other accessories, including refrigerators, isothermal boxes, the Minister of Health announces that they will be imported.
