Casablanca Beach Town Bans Jet Skis After Tragic Accident Injures 4-Year-Old

Dar Bouazza, a locality in the Casablanca-Settat region, has decided to ban jet skis on its beaches.
No more jet skis on the beaches of Dar Bouazza. This is the decision taken by the local authorities. This decision follows a tragic accident that injured a 4-year-old girl, Ghita, on June 15. That day, an all-terrain vehicle, a 4x4 towing a jet ski, hit the little girl on the beach of Sidi Rahal, south of Casablanca, as she was playing in the sand, just a few meters from the water. Rushed to Casablanca after the accident, Ghita underwent surgery for a serious head injury and a fractured jaw.
The driver of the vehicle - a rich kid - was arrested. He is not only accused of causing a traffic accident resulting in serious injuries, but also of driving the vehicle under inappropriate conditions. He now faces serious legal consequences. His trial continues before the court of first instance in Berrechid. As for the victim, she is returning to Italy for treatment.
To prevent similar accidents, the authorities have given clear instructions to local officials to ensure that bathers have safe conditions during the summer season.
