Casablanca Bank Robber Arrested in Marrakech After 80,000 Dirham Heist

The main perpetrator of the robbery of a bank branch in Casablanca that took place on May 17 has finally been arrested and brought before the Rabat public prosecutor’s office. An accomplice has been identified and arrested.
The suspect, born in 1989 in Agadir, had robbed a bank branch in the morning of May 17 and managed to get away with more than 80,000 dirhams before fleeing, reports Al Akhbar, specifying that he was arrested the same day, after fleeing to Marrakech.
According to the newspaper, the man benefited from the help of an accomplice, who was also arrested. It was the latter who helped him flee to Marrakech. The two men were transferred to Casablanca, as the offense was committed in the economic capital.
The accused are charged with criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, threats and knife wounds, forgery. The clothes worn by the robber at the time of his crime as well as several other objects belonging to him are still subject to technical and scientific investigations in order to ensure the exact motives that motivated this spectacular robbery.
