Canadian Miner Aya Gold & Silver Expands into Moroccan Diamond Industry

Aya Gold & Silver will start exploiting diamond mines in Morocco. The Canadian company already operates copper and silver mines in the kingdom.
In addition to the Zgounder silver mine and the Tirzzit copper and silver mine, Aya Gold & Silver will operate the Boumadine diamond mines, the Canadian company said in a statement. Aya also plans to explore new areas in the northwest over the first three months of 2024, it was announced.
In line with its expansion plan, the company will activate six drilling platforms at Boumadine. Benoit La Salle, CEO of the company, said he was very satisfied with the agreement reached with the Moroccan authorities and "the results of the exploration work at Boumadine over the past 12 months". Aya has managed to "more than double its exploration drilling program for this project in 2023, to 76,000 meters," La Salle rejoiced, ensuring the expansion of the deposit, currently 4 kilometers.
In addition, 7,300 additional meters of drilling will be explored in the Zgounder silver mine. "We are also pleased with our initial work at Zgounder, where we remain focused on finding additional resources, including the possibility of satellite deposits in the short term," he added.
