Canadian Firm Aquatech Wins Contract to Manage Morocco’s Bouregreg Wastewater Treatment Plant

Aquatech Maroc, a subsidiary of the Canadian-based Aquatech International group, was selected at the end of the selection process for the company that will be responsible for the management and operation of the facilities and structures of the treatment unit for the discharges from the Bouregreg treatment plant.
It is a major private manager and operator of drinking water and wastewater infrastructure in Canada. The company has been present in Morocco for nearly 10 years in engineering and organizational support services for state-owned companies, according to a press release from the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE).
Aquatech Maroc Services des Eaux was chosen after submitting its bid. The contract is for twelve months but can be renewed for a period of five years, the office specifies.
For this contract, the company had two other companies (EMEGEP and Kechakchi) as competitors, who had submitted higher financial proposals. They were eliminated following the examination of the technical file, the same source points out.
