Morocco Expands Rail Network: Two Major Bridges to Link Rabat and Salé

The National Railway Office (ONCF) has announced the construction of two new major bridges over the Bouregreg river.
The infrastructure has been initiated as part of the ongoing development projects in the valley. It will be completed within 12 months and will eventually connect the cities of Rabat and Salé, according to a statement from the office.
It is under a partnership between the National Railway Office, the Bouregreg Valley Development Agency (AAVB), the ministerial departments in charge of Finance and Transport, and NARSA, that the project management of the construction of these two major structures has been entrusted to ONCF.
As part of the work, a diversion of the railway tracks has been made on a new platform, with the construction of a metal bridge, to maintain traffic safely.
However, the office points out that there will be slowdowns on February 20 and 27, during the work on the railway line.
