CAN 2025 in Morocco: vuvuzelas, food and cigarettes, the blacklist of stadiums unveiled

This is a security crackdown to ensure the smooth running of the matches. The list of prohibited items leaves no room for improvisation. The deafening noise of vuvuzelas, trumpets or whistles is over: all sound support instruments are banned from the stands for this Moroccan edition.

The rules are just as strict when it comes to consumables. It will be impossible to bring in food, bottles, cans or alcoholic beverages. Smokers will also have to abstain, as cigarettes and lighters are on the red list.

Security has also proscribed any object that could be used as a projectile or weapon. This includes umbrellas, helmets, laser pointers, aerosol cans and even paper tissues or cleaning paper, often thrown in rolls on the lawns.

Finally, in terms of visual entertainment and event coverage, the restrictions are clear: no large flags or banners, no masks, and a formal ban on professional cameras and filming equipment for regular spectators. Pets, unsurprisingly, remain outside.
